Cosmology is a subject to understand the evolution of entire Universe. It has progressed very fast in the past several decades with the advances of modern telescopes. This promoted the modern cosmology of the last century and highlighted its phenomenal successes and distinctive challenges. How and why the measurements of cosmic microwave background radiation, the relics of the primordial elements, and the galaxy distribution on large scales can improve our understanding of the hot big bang became a big question. Its distinctive challenges, the observational frontiers for this (next) decade of cosmology will be discussed.
报告人简介：
马寅哲, 南非斯坦陵布什大学教授. 在英国剑桥大学获得了天文学博士学位，主要从事观测和理论宇宙学，利用射电天文数据理解宇宙演化的基本定律以及暗物质和暗能量的本性。目前，已在国际知名期刊发表SCI论文120余篇，被引26000多次，先后多项南非国家基金会和海外研究基金的科研项目。2022年当选为南非国家科学院院士。
